The Albanian Information of Technology Association was established in 2007 as an initiative of Albanian enterprises working in the IT field.

The objectives of the organization are: 

• To address the needs of the sector and transform the association into the most important representative of the Albanian IT sector;
• To be a strong voice of the sector towards the government ;
• To recognize and identify weaknesses / barriers;
• To develop and strengthen the IT industry in the country;
• To promote the IT sector in the country;
• To develop the export services in the IT sector;
• To become the leader in promoting professional and quality services in the country;
• To make partnerships with other associations ;
• To promote education and improve school and university curricula in the IT field.

Executive staff is focused on generating projects and implementing activities that have impact on the members, on the wider IT community  in Albania and which aim at the sustainable development of the association.

The activities include:

• Coordinated representation towards the Government in various forms through: participation in joint meetings, preparation of Position Papers, participation in meetings with representatives of particular sectors of importance for the IT sector;
• Building bridges of cooperation with companies in other countries;
• Building bridges of cooperation with other sectors of the Albanian economy;
• Support of internationalization efforts of member companies;
• Organization of conferences and fairs;
• Organization of business trips;
• Organization of roundtable meetings on topics relevant to the sector;
• Organization of the ICT Day (Annual event taking place in the last Thursday of June);
• Organization of diploma competitions;
• Organization of StartUp Events;
• Organization of trainings;
• Initiation of studies aiming at generating relevant data for the sector;
• Generation of projects ideas and implementation of projects of national importance in the IT field.
